Course availability and key settings
The handful of settings important to set before students arrive.
Two things cause most early-term trouble: availability and dates. Make the course available to students when you are ready, and set the start and end so students get access exactly when you intend. Confirm the course date and time settings so due dates land at the hour you expect.
Decide what students see first and make that entry point obvious, so nobody is guessing on day one.
