Online structure, navigation, and getting started
Online, structure, navigation, and a clear start carry weight they do not in person.
Online, your course site is the course, so its structure and navigation are quality issues in their own right. Review whether a student can land in your course and immediately know where to start, how the modules are organized, and how to find each kind of material. Consistency matters more here than anywhere: when every module follows the same pattern, students stop having to relearn the layout.
A clear getting-started module, predictable module structure, clear labels, and working links are the basics. These are heavily weighted in online quality rubrics precisely because, without them, an online student can be lost in a way an in-person student rarely is.
