Set objectives for a single session

Bring the same outcome-first thinking down to one class period.

The same logic that shapes a course shapes a single class. Before planning activities for a session, decide what students should be able to do by the time they leave. One or two clear objectives for the day are enough, and they should ladder up to your course outcomes.

Session objectives keep a class from becoming a tour of content. They tell you what to practice, what to check for understanding, and what to cut when time runs short. Share them at the start so everyone knows where the session is headed.
