Check your work before you publish
Build accessibility in as you go, then confirm it with the built-in tools.
The Blackboard content editor includes the Ultra Accessibility Checker, powered by Ally, which flags common problems as you work, such as missing alt text and headings used out of order. Fix what it points out on each page.
Many campuses also run a broader accessibility tool that scores a whole course and suggests fixes. Availability varies by institution, which this course does not cover, so ask your campus what is enabled. The aim is to design accessibly as you go, so the check confirms your work rather than rescuing it.
How to do this in Blackboard
Official step-by-step instructions. Each opens in a new tab so you don’t lose your place in the course.
