Captions and accessible documents

Caption your media and make the documents you upload accessible too.

Video and audio need captions or a transcript so they work for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, in quiet rooms, and for anyone reviewing quickly. Auto-captions are a starting point you should correct for accuracy.

Files you upload carry their own accessibility. A Word document or slide deck should use real headings and alt text, and a PDF should be true text rather than a scanned image. When in doubt, build the content as a page in Blackboard instead of attaching a file.
