Check that assessments measure your objectives
Confirm that every assessment measures an objective, and every objective is measured.
With your objectives in hand, check the assessments against them. Two questions do most of the work. First, does each assessment measure a stated objective? An assessment that tests something the course never claimed to teach is unfair and misaligned. Second, is each objective measured somewhere? An outcome you promised but never assess is a gap.
A simple map helps: list your objectives down one side and your assessments across the top, and mark which measures which. Empty rows and empty columns are exactly the misalignments to fix. This map is one of the most revealing artifacts a course review produces, and it often surfaces problems you did not know were there.
