Images, color, and contrast
Make images and color choices that work for every student.
Every meaningful image needs alt text that conveys its point in a sentence. Purely decorative images can be marked as decorative so screen readers skip them.
Never let color carry meaning by itself. “The items in red are required” fails for students who do not perceive that color, so add a label or symbol. Keep strong contrast between text and background so low-vision students, and anyone reading on a phone in sunlight, can still read it.
