How this course works

You can read the pages in any order, and you do not have to mark a page complete to move to the next one. To earn your certificate, click Mark Complete on each lesson and topic as you finish it, then take the final quiz and score 85% or higher. When every page is complete and the quiz is passed, your certificate unlocks and you can download it anytime from the course page.

Most of us create documents every week, and the choices we make while writing them decide whether everyone can read them. This short course covers the basics of building accessible digital documents: how assistive technology reads your file, how to use your software’s built-in tools, how to run an accessibility checker, how to save without stripping your work, how to handle color, images, and tables, and how to keep the files you upload to a learning management system accessible.

It is useful for instructors, staff, and students who create or share documents. The examples use Microsoft Word, but the habits apply to any word processor. Work through the eight lessons, then take the quiz. Score 85% or higher to earn your KSARN certificate.
