Accessibility as a quality standard

Accessibility is a core quality standard in every major framework.

Every major quality framework treats accessibility as a core standard, not an add-on. A quality course is usable by every student: real headings and structure, alt text on images, captions on media, link text that describes its destination, sufficient contrast, and accessible uploaded documents. These are the same practices the accessibility training covers in depth.

Reviewing for accessibility means checking that access was built in rather than bolted on. A course that is inaccessible is, by definition, not high quality, because some students cannot fully use it. Treating accessibility as part of quality, rather than a separate compliance task, is how it gets done.
