Course settings that matter
The handful of settings important to set before students arrive.
In Settings, set the course start and end dates and the participation option so students can enter the course exactly when you intend, and not before or after. Confirm the time zone so due dates land at the hour you expect.
Under Choose Home Page, decide what students land on: the Modules list, a custom Page, or the syllabus. These small choices prevent the two most common early-term problems: students who cannot get in, and due times that are off by an hour.
