Reuse a course and shift dates

Bring a course into a new term, import one from another system, and move every date.

Once a course works, you rarely build from scratch. Use Course Import, also called Copy a Canvas Course, to bring content into your next term’s shell. You do not have to start over even if your course currently lives somewhere else: Canvas can import an export package from Blackboard or another system, so most or all of the content comes across and you reorganize from there rather than rebuilding.

When you import, Canvas can shift dates to the new term, moving due dates and availability windows forward. You can also bulk-edit due dates from inside the course. Always audit the result, because old or mismatched dates are the most common copy-over error, and re-check links and media that may have moved.
