Digital Document Review and Competency Quiz
Digital document creation is part of what many people do on a weekly or even daily basis. It is important that the documents we create are accessible to anyone who wants to access them, and in order to ensure that level of accessibility, it is likely you will need to develop new habits.
The good news is that these habits are not hard, they are just new. Especially in Microsoft products, the tools available to you will help you create accessible documents easily, and over time you may find the tools help you create the documents themselves in a way that is easier for you.
Since the goal of accessibility is to reach all people with the same information at the same time, that means we need to consider different kinds of audiences when we create documents. What are some of the challenges that people who use screen readers might face? How could a person who is deaf understand the audio track on an embedded video? How might someone who is colorblind understand a complex, colorful document? Once you start thinking from this perspective, making accessible choices will become much easier for you.
